Welcome to 2016-17.

Well, we made it.

Last season was tough to get through, but we forged on. Now, it’s go time.

Many people in our industry want to bury the 2015-16 season, to erase it from memory, to pretend like it never happened. While we’re not mad about that type of thinking, last season was the type to make you reflect. It solidified the fact that we have the best damn customers in the world, that family will always be there to pick your chin up, and the snowmakers at Holiday Valley are walking legends. (Seriously, they saved the day.)

Enough about that. We’re here to get you stoked on what lies ahead for 2016-17, because there’s a lot to be excited for. We’re entering our 33rd year in business, and it looks to potentially be the best one yet. Let’s dive into ’16-’17 head first.

Last year, we introduced you to The Boardroom on Main, our foray into a 2nd storefront location in the Village of Ellicottville. Major ups to our guy Tyler Burns (aka DJ Tyler Swift) for jumping on #TeamBoardroom. But the combination of a bad (ok, worst on record) winter, a weak Canadian dollar and the fact we were in the basement, BoM was good — but not great.

So this year, we’re super stoked to say we’re moving to the main floor at 14 Washington Street (right next door to Adventure Bound onthefly.) The retail space is absolutely gorgeous, we’ll have our own door, and we’ve dialed in our product selection to better match what we picked up on from our customers last year. Typically, our Flagship location at 6113 Route 219 doesn’t do that well with lifestyle apparel — but BoM, being in the Village, is the perfect spot for it. So look for some really great everyday wardrobe stuff from Burton, Volcom, Under Armour, Roxy & Quiksilver, and much more.

We’re anticipating BoM opening just in time for Fall Festival.

The Fourth Phase Premier at Villaggio

With much anticipating, Travis Rice and crew drop their latest masterpiece on Sunday, October 2nd. As a major sponsor, Red Bull wants to spread the hype as much as possible and will sponsor screenings across the nation. We’ll be hosting ours at Villaggio, Nick Pitillo’s casual Italian restaurant on 7 Monroe St.

We’re doing this thing big. There’s going to be a red carpet with velvet rope, a photo board, Red Bull drink specials and tons of giveaways. The good people at Lib Tech are sending us a board to give away, Skullcandy is throwing some headphones and other goodies our way, and Holiday Valley will give away a $199 Ultimate College Pass. You’ve got to be present to win any of these, but honestly, this is an event you really won’t want to miss. For more information or to RSVP, head to our Facebook event page or The Fourth Phase official website.

Splitboard Rentals, Newcomers and Holidays

Last year, #TeamBoardroom got on a couple of splitboards and started trekking up early to earn some turns at Holiday Valley. There isn’t a ton of ‘backcountry’ to do, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the adventure of getting up early and hoofing it. We’ve got a couple of more splits coming in this season, so you’ll be able to get out on some with us. Stay tuned for more details.

We’ve brought in Pret Helmets this year (shoutout Pat Meehan) and Oakley has a helmet coming down the line as well. Speaking of Oakley, their new PRIZM Inferno goggle is something you’re going to have to see to believe. There’s a ton of new great hardgood/softgood options from all of our favorite brands, so pop in on the weekends and see us.

Oh yeah. Holidays with the Boardroom will be back for Season 2.

We hope you guys are as excited as we are for this upcoming season. Let it snow. Thanks again for being the best customers, fans and friends on the planet. We’ll see you soon. #shoplocal #since84
